Biblical Strategy for Handling Financial Blessings

1) PRAY: Giving is a matter of the heart.  Giving involves loving; loving involves giving.  We first encourage you to pray about the resources God has given you with an open heart.  Specifically, ask God how you can respond financially to His love, the needs of this local church, and our mission to serve this present age and community.  While we cannot beat God giving, we absolutely believe He wants us to join Him in giving!  We can't wait to thank God for your continuous support! (Deuteronomy 8; Proverbs 3:9-10; Acts 2:41-47; Acts 4:32-37)

2) PURPOSE: The sharing of our resources is done with the intent of seeing the work of God go forward.  Intentional giving leads to intentional blessings.  (2 Corinthians 9)

3) TITHE: A "tithe" is a tenth part of the whole.  Tithing is the setting aside of a tenth of our good or money to be given to God by giving to His church.  The spiritual act of tithing recognizes God is the owner, we are simply stewards of His blessings.  Because of this, mature believers don't view tithing as taxing, dutiful, or heavy.  Christians see the tithe as the biblical systematic way giving back to God 10% of our income.  In tithing we acknowledge the holiness and sacredness of the tithe because it belongs to God. (Leviticus 27:30 & Malachi 3:6-10)

4) OFFERING: An "offering" are gifts given to God only after the tithe has been given to Him.  It is our way of telling God "THANK YOU", Going beyond the requirement by grace! (Exodus 35:5-29; Luke 6:38; Philippians 4:11-19)

5) LEGACY: God has blessed our church family in an awesome way!  We desire to see the work of God continue, occupying until Jesus returns.  Our mission is to advance the kingdom of our Lord by making disciples of Jesus Christ.  We have a vision to meet the needs of all people, ages, cultures, and backgrounds.  We want to reach every generation for Jesus Christ, and assure others of His goodness.  For the purpose of future work, which includes the acquisition of property, upgrades to our current facilities, serving the community, and economic development, we ask each member to give $365 or more per year to the LEGACY of our church.  In addition, each member is encouraged to consider gifting a percentage of their life insurance policy this church as a legacy gift. (Proverbs 13:22)
